A Peace of the Anarchy
Submitted by FluxRostrum on Wed, 01/12/2011 - 5:15pmA Peace of the Anarchy is a quick summary of 20th century radical activism in the USA with a notable focus on the pacifist christian anarchist Ammon Hennacy. Folks from the War Resisters League, the IWW, Earth First! and the Catholic Worker, along with Mr. Hennacy exemplify the marginalized prophetic witness for peace and justice in the USA as they attempt to appeal to the dominant culture. These people speak on the benefits of anarchy and peace, following the radical (rooted/basically grounded) ideology and optimism that goodness will overcome evil, love is superior to hate and truth trumps falsehood.

The American Ruling Class
Submitted by FluxRostrum on Sun, 08/09/2009 - 4:47pmIn this first of its kind “dramatic-documentary-musical,” essayist Lewis Lapham and an all-star cast (including Kurt Vonnegut, Robert Altman, James Baker and Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr.) take two young Ivy-League graduates on a tour of the corridors of power. This “astonishing”, “coruscating” satire poses the question: Is it better to rule the world, or to save it?
Appearing on the screen are a range of leaders and commentators from across the political spectrum, among them: the late Robert B. Altman, James A. Baker III, Bill Bradley, Harold Brown, Hodding Carter III, William T. Coleman, Jr., Walter Cronkite, Barbara Ehrenreich, Vartan Gregorian, Doug Henwood, Mike Medavoy, Joseph S. Nye, Jr., John Perkins, (a.k.a., the economic hit-man) Samuel Peabody, Pete Seeger, Lawrence H. Summers, Arthur O. Sulzberger, Jr., William Howard Taft IV, the late Kurt Vonnegut and Howard Zinn.

(2008) A documentary that looks into the events during the Republican National Convention in Saint Paul, MN.
Footage contains excessive use of force and questionable tactics used by police toward activists. It also includes interviews with citizens, asking them what they are fighting for.
This documentary is strictly for educational purposes only and should never be sold. The footage contains graphic state terrorism of its own people and some adult language.
The footage used in this documentary was shot mainly by independent, non-profit, and volunteer citizens that have risked much to bring you this uncensored look into the Republican National Convention. Thanks to all of you that fight for truth.

This afternoon the bus was repeatedly harassed by St. Paul police. We were notified by our lawyers who were on the scene while we were attempting to cover the Poor People's March. Eyewitnesses reported that they attempted to open the door both by hand and CROW BAR. They attempted to film inside the bus and claimed they were concerned about "liquids". Our bus is legally parked in a paid lot with permission from the Parking lot. 2 private buses have been confiscated in St. Paul 1 bus carrying a marching band of activists have chosen to leave town. The police came by 3 times each time with more squad cars and equipment. At this time the bus, inhabitants and property are safe... and insecure. Much more about this later.

Conyers FORCED to Stand Up for His Own Principles
Submitted by FluxRostrum on Fri, 07/18/2008 - 7:20amJohn Conyers (D-MI) has been posturing as a representitive that actually represents "the People" for at least 4 years now. He consistently takes up the pledge and rhetoric of impeachment and consistently drops the ball or stands quietly on the sidelines as others drop the ball for the "gipper".
After more than two months of trying to schedule a brief meeting with Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) to deliver VFP's 23,000 impeachment signatures, we politely informed the Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, in writing, that we would drop by his Washington office with them. And we would sit there until he met with us or hauled us off in handcuffs.
On June 10 VFP issued a news release explaining our intention to call on Conyers the following day. Coincidentally (!) the morning of the 11th, his scheduler called asking, "I hear you're in town today, would you like to meet with the Congressman?"
