Bush's trip raised only $500,000. It probably cost the taxpayers at least that much, if not more, in security for him, between the number of local police and overtime; federal security; helicopters, air force one, pilots, delays at the airport, the horrible mess caused by shutting down the interstate between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Add up the lost time for all of the taxpayers sitting in traffic and not being able to be productive anywhere else (the doctors were waiting for the patients at the doctor's office when I got there, and the waiting room was empty---cool, right?), and who knows how much his little fundraising party actually cost. It would have been cheaper to just write John Kennedy a check from the federal coffers for $500,000, and save us all the time and aggravation of being stuck in traffic for an extra hour just so the almighty could come to a fundraiser.

Bush Just Gave Himself Dictatorial Powers
Submitted by FluxRostrum on Thu, 05/31/2007 - 7:20amBush signs unconstitutional "power grab" presidential directives NSPD51 and HSPD20, giving him full-dictatorial powers in the event of a loosely defined "catastrophic emergency."
The directives define "catastrophic emergency" as "any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government function."
It also states that "The President shall lead the activities of the Federal Government for ensuring constitutional government." In other words, the president gave himself the sole power and duty to interpret the constitution anyway he chooses, and neither Congress nor the public shall be allowed to debate or disagree on such matters.
Right now, the only thing standing between democracy and Bush's apparent desire to rule with an iron fist is a lesser event than that of 9/11.
Will you wait until he uses these powers to do something? .. or not.

It's perplexing the way people hold tight to their views even when they hold views that might be considered exclusive to each other. The American mind is quite baffling. It seems that if any 2 people talk and hear each other long enough, they will find things that they agree upon and things they disagree upon. Why do we always focus on the disagreable part?

George Bush ~ I'm Just Following Orders
Submitted by FluxRostrum on Sat, 07/08/2006 - 7:20amThe man some call the president has a few things to say about following orders to commit war crimes. Everyone should heed his advice on this, I mean, hey, he was smart enough to go AWOL during Vietnam... just not smart enough to be proud of the fact.
This clip has been edited but the words and intent have not been altered from the original presentation; which was the speech in which Bush gave Sadam a 48 hour ultimatum and outlined various lies to assure the American sheeple of our integrity.

Death Penalty for Bush? How Ironic.
Submitted by FluxRostrum on Sat, 10/29/2005 - 7:20pmThe War Crimes Act of 1996: Bush, Rumsfeld could be Indicted under US Law
The War Crimes Act of 1996, a federal statute set forth at 18 U.S.C. § 2441, makes it a federal crime for any U.S. national, whether military or civilian, to violate the Geneva Convention by engaging in murder, torture, or inhuman treatment.
The statute applies not only to those who carry out the acts, but also to those who ORDER IT, know about it, or fail to take steps to stop it. The statute applies to everyone, no matter how high and mighty.
18 U.S.C. § 2441 has no statute of limitations, which means that a war crimes complaint can be filed at any time.
The penalty may be life imprisonment or -- if a single prisoner dies due to torture -- death. ~~~ Read More On George's Blog
Depleted Uranium use is a much clearer violation of International Law. And far more destructive than torture. Why not go after him on the real hard core shit? Torture? Yeah, torture=bad ... depleted uranium=sickmurderousgenocidalmadmanwithnocareforhumanlifeoursortheirs
And with Depleted Uranium we could reach back and "honor" Bush senior... and Clinton with a seat on death row. If you still don't know much about Depleted Uranium watch Beyond Treason. I know I just posted this video a few days ago, but if you didn't watch ... you need to be reminded.
