We Became the Enemy
Submitted by FluxRostrum on Thu, 09/16/2010 - 5:14pmI have numerous off screen cameos in this ... strangely familiar life slice
We Became the Enemy from Armand Ruhlman.
A fictional piece based on real experiences and events in NYC, the video conveys reactionary hostility toward bicycle riders, artists, poets, tree-huggers, community gardeners, etc. - specifically in the downtown community of activists who advocated bicycle power, peace, love, and all that jazz during the 2004 Republican National Convention in Manhattan.

A Common Ground Mole?
Submitted by FluxRostrum on Mon, 01/05/2009 - 10:11pmDOWNLOAD
Common Ground Relief co-founder Brandon Darby wore wires for the FBI.
Article 1, Article 2, Brandon's Confession
I have a lot of thoughts about this revelation. Most importantly: Was Brandon a Common Ground Mole or get the job later? AND if he was a Common Ground mole: Why would the FBI infiltrate a grassroots humanitarian organization whose main purpose was to help the Hurricane victims of Katrina? AND since the FBI was fully aware of the vigilante whites randomly shooting black people on the streets post Katrina... why did they allow that to continue?

Political Conventions Ate My Constitution and All I Got Was This Stupid Head Wound

A video report on the protests that occurred in connection with the Democrat and Republican National Conventions, Ground Noise & Static is a manifesto. We went to Denver and St. Paul to take the pulse of the movement. Corporate media would cover the platitudes and posturing of the politicians, we were interested in something else, a story hidden in plain sight, captured in the now-classic street chant, “This is what democracy looks like.”
Ground Noise & Static is a joint effort of Franklin López of subMedia.TV and PepperSpray Productions. It is the direct result of a wonderful collaboration with many indymedia-style activists and journalists who all pitched in for the common good and success of their various efforts to tell their “Unconventional” stories.

Unwritten Future: RNC Police State Tactics

.mp4, HiRes Download available for free
(2008) A documentary that looks into the events during the Republican National Convention in Saint Paul, MN.
Footage contains excessive use of force and questionable tactics used by police toward activists. It also includes interviews with citizens, asking them what they are fighting for.
This documentary is strictly for educational purposes only and should never be sold. The footage contains graphic state terrorism of its own people and some adult language.
The footage used in this documentary was shot mainly by independent, non-profit, and volunteer citizens that have risked much to bring you this uncensored look into the Republican National Convention. Thanks to all of you that fight for truth.

Cops probe indymedia bus for 'corpses'?
Submitted by FluxRostrum on Mon, 09/22/2008 - 11:13pm
By Dave Orrick | dorrick@pioneerpress.com | photo by Larry Hildes
It's unclear why, but police put the heat on a weathered school bus Tuesday used by an independent media organization.
The group says the cops said they were looking for "dead bodies."
Police refused to provide any information on their actions, but a spokesman said the corpse thing was absurd.
"Does that sound logical?" police spokesman Tom Walsh asked. "We do things logically."
Larry Hildes, a California attorney and a legal observer with the National Lawyers Guild, said he saw a St. Paul police officer trying to pry the bus' side door open around 4:45 p.m. in a parking lot in Lowertown, where the bus was parked. "She informed me she was looking for dead bodies," said Hildes. "I informed here there were none." Hildes asked for a warrant; he said the police said they had none and left.
Hildes said bands of officers returned several times, at one point driving by slowly while one officer shined a light at the blocked-out windows and videotaped the bus.
"We're completely above-board," said Mary-Kate Stoever, a.k.a. Skinny Chef. "We just live in the bus."
Hours later, a Pioneer Press reporter observed a police car parked near the bus; the officer appeared to be watching. When asked what the cops were up to, Walsh responded, "I don't know anything about it. ... Nope, I'm not going to look into it either."

Deliberatly Cut Fuel Line No Match For Smart People
Submitted by FluxRostrum on Thu, 09/11/2008 - 10:04amThe trip East was delayed a day due to a very fresh slice in a fuel line. Fortunately I found it before moving the bus. Otherwise, we would have stalled in traffic and had the bus impounded... as I suspect was the outcome the person who sliced it would have preferred. We've had tremendous luck collecting oil this week.
